Just to mix things up, we’ll leap forward into 1996 for this Sunday’s #BNoirDetour adventure.

Bound is the first film by the Wachowskis, written, directed, and produced by the duo that brought us The Matrix films and, alas, Speed Racer.

Bound is what many classify as neo noir: a film that uses elements of classical Hollywood noir style and content and remixes them, either to update or to comment on the tradition/genre.

Like many noir crime thrillers, it’s not difficult to describe the basic plot of Bound: mob moll Violet (Jennifer Tilly) falls for tough ex-con Corky (Gina Gershon) and the two hatch a scheme to steal millions in mafia money and escape from the clutches of her gangster boyfriend Caesar (Joe Pantaliano).

Needless to say, violence ensues, sparks fly, and the viewer is taken for a wild ride.

Please join the #BNoirDetour gang for this exciting, sexy adventure in neo-noir on Sunday, 1/25/15. We will watch the film via the graciousness of YouTube:
