It’s high time for some low Cagney-style crime!

Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1950) is the story of Ralph Cotter (James Cagney), who escapes prison, uses blackmail in an attempt to seduce his ex-partner’s sister (Barbara Payton), starts up his crime business again, gets shaken down by corrupt cops, and commits murder along the way.

At it’s release, the film was banned in Ohio, called a “a sordid, sadistic presentation of brutality and an extreme presentation of crime with explicit steps in its commission.” How’s that for a recommendation?
