Time for another night of noir TV. On Sunday 7/26 at 9p ET, BNoirDetour offers a live tweet of three episodes of The Fugitive.
Starring David Janssen as Dr. Richard Kimble, The Fugitive tells the story of a man on the run after being falsely convicted of his wife’s murder. In his cross-country search, he chases the real killer, a one-armed man, even as he is hounded by the authorities, especially Police Lieutenant Philip Gerard. Fans may note links to both Kerouac’s On the Road and Les Miserables.
The series aired for four seasons, a total of 120 50-minute episodes, and was nominated for five Emmy Awards. It won Outstanding Dramatic Series in 1966, and TV Guide rated it one of the 50 greatest TV shows of all time. The one-armed man placed 5th in their 2013 list of the 60 nastiest villains of all time. A host of film and TV greats guest starred on the show, from Gloria Grahame to William Shatner.
We will screen the Pilot, “Fear in a Desert City” and two highly rated episodes, including the season 1 episode “Nightmare at Northoak” and the season 2 finale, “The End is But the Beginning.”
